ABA Therapy
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy is a scientifically validated, evidence-based approach to understanding and improving behavior. Rooted in the principles of behaviorism, ABA therapy focuses on how behaviors change or are affected by the environment, and it uses this understanding to teach meaningful skills and reduce harmful or disruptive behaviors.
Primarily used in the treatment of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ABA therapy is personalized to meet the unique needs of each individual. The therapy involves breaking down complex skills into smaller, teachable components and using positive reinforcement to encourage progress. Goals may include improving communication, social skills, self-care, academic performance, and daily living skills.
ABA therapy is typically delivered one-on-one by a trained therapist under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Through data-driven decision-making, ongoing assessment, and collaboration with families and caregivers, ABA therapy aims to promote independence and enhance quality of life.
